As mentioned above, Fukushima is rarely talked about since the initial disaster that led to the melting of toxic radioactive fuel rods.
Since the incident 6 years ago, some fuel rods are still yet to be located and contained by the Japanese government. The once pristine Pacific Ocean is now under radioactive assault with en mass die-offs occurring regularly.
It is predicted that the cleanup will keep contractors in a job for up to a century. To add to the radioactive disaster, a containment pool near the site will suffer a similar fate when the next earthquake hits, further compounding the current crisis.
Although climate change is a concern, what ever happened to media coverage of Fukushima? Oh…hang on, I guess it’s old news.
